First Test Drive!

Welcome:
The room you appear in, ripped from wherever you had been a moment ago, is cold and uninteresting. White walls, tile floors, and nothing to look at save for the woman in generic business dress holding a clipboard. She seems to be checking off people as they arrive, but doesn't seem interested in interacting aside from handing you a key to what is apparently now your room.
Luckily for you, you aren't the only baffled new arrival, and once you're all shuffled out of the room and into the adjoining courtyard, there's both more pleasant scenery, plenty of time to talk, and a table set next to the door that's covered with markers, stacks of "Hi my name is" stickers, and a cheerful set of instructions and suggested topics if you all decide you want to play charades.
Whatever you might think of the odd welcome, you get a distinct sense that it would be in your interest to get to know some of these people.
Entertainment options:
In the hobby room, you'll find a few TVs set up with video game systems attached that double as DVD players. Unfortunately, the selection is lacking. There's a pile of disks, but all you'll find is the same movie and the same video game over and over. Namely, a romantic comedy and something that might be a knockoff of Mario Party, both of which could be described as astoundingly mediocre. Still, they're better than nothing. Oh, and if you want a less technical option, there's always the modeling clay.
It seems whoever runs this facility hasn't put much of their budget toward entertainment. Fortunately for you, there's also a complaint box in the kitchen.
A Bonding Exercise:
The powers that be want everyone to try to get along here, so one morning, you might wake up to find a piece of paper slipped under their door.
An Ice Breaker Game
-someone with a scar
-someone with a weapon
-someone whose pants are too tight
-someone who eats something other than food
-someone whose smile can't be trusted
-someone who has betrayed another
-someone who has killed a person
-someone who will never lie
Talk to different people who meet all of these descriptions.
Anyone who succeeds will earn a chocolate bar.
They aren't lying. Anyone who succeeds in this will discover a quality chocolate bar has been delivered to their room the following morning, whether or not they were trying to complete the list. Considering the powers that be didn't ask you to turn in answers, it does beg the question of how they know you succeeded, and whether any of your guesses about who qualifies as which were accurate. You'll just have to wonder.

Welcome to the Test Drive Meme for Red Thread. Feel free to try out whatever characters you like in the confines of our modest facility. Any threads played out on this meme are optional game canon; that means anything you play in this thread can be kept in your character's memory or not as you choose. Have fun, and please refer to the FAQ for more information about how this setting works.
Alphys | Undertale | OTA | will match style!
One minute, Alphys was walking through the dark tiled hallways of the lab, a bag of dogfood in hand. The next minute, she was covering her face to hide from the brightness of the white... everything.
And now... she's seemingly surrounded by humans? Most of them look as confused as she feels, so that tells her something. Were they all... abducted by aliens? If these abductors could get her out of the barrier, then couldn't they get the others, too? Unfortunately, in the time it took her to try to stammer any of these questions, their helpful captor grew tired of listening, and pressured her out into the courtyard.
Alphys now fidgets her hands together, tail twitching under the edge of her lab coat, looking around.
"O-okay, then... Uh. Is there. Anybody who knows what's going on?"
[Entertainment]
"There is. Nothing to watch??"
By now, Alphys is wearing one of the name tags. She'd hoped that following along with the instructions and hints would make their captors think well of her, so maybe they would... answer questions? Or something. But just looking at this movie selection is rapidly turning her around on that idea.
"These. Th-they're all the same disc? Over and over?? Who d-does something like that???"
Clawed hands fumble for disc after disc as she examines them and pushes them aside. Why didn't they kidnap her movie collection while they were at it?
[Bonding Exercise]
Her awkward, avoidant smile probably gives it away; she doesn't trust herself, and if nothing else, she feels like she's betrayed people by being here instead of back where they're counting on her. Any other history of betrayal... who'd be in a hurry to mention that?
But playing the game is something to do besides writing complaints about the entertainment selection. So she's going around, list in hand, for people who might fit the categories.
((I've been having trouble getting my icons to actually upload, but I'll have more soon.))
Welcome
"I think it's obvious we've all been kidnapped." Something he seems oddly calm about, all told.
no subject
"It's obvious, but... It's also impossible? We haven't even, um, figured out a way to t-take down the barrier. So, for me... to be here..." She wrings her hands tightly enough for scales to screech and scrape, looking around again like some new clue will reveal itself.
no subject
"What are you, then? Some sort of zoo animal?"
no subject
"Is that a j-joke? I know zoo animals don't really talk. Except, in cartoons."
[Entertainment]
That seemed totally reasonable. Because anyone else would at least have different romantic comedies.
no subject
"Aliens. It's got to be aliens. Maybe they pulled us into another dimension, and they're so different... they don't really get the point of movies. Because if they l-liked it that much, they wouldn't just give us the copies. Like, what if one of us... broke one?"
She holds one of the duplicate discs in hand, considering. Would it be worth finding out?

She looks around them, and confides in a lower voice, "I haven't s-seen any cameras yet... but they might b-be hidden."
no subject
And she is totally going to at least attempt to break the DVD.
no subject
"Are you really?? D-do you fight bad guys, like in c-cartoons?"
Maybe there is some truth to anime after all?
no subject
"I totally do! It's awesome!"

{Alas, literally as I type this, a mecha and monster themed addition to canon is happening.]
